Oh, man, "Centerfold" and "Freeze Frame" were both in heavy rotation when I was in pep/marching band. It's only after all these years that I can actually enjoy the real songs again.

Fun Fact: J. Geils and David Lynch were college roommates. I imagine it was either shockingly normal or something out of a debauched nightmare.

Very cool Schacht!! Disco was cool IMHO. The golden age for bass players too!

Doc, cool fact. When you do "family trees" of a lot of music trends you can often pinpoint it down to a relatively small group of friends and/or colleagues.

I recently heard an interview with Steve Cropper (guitarist of Booker T and the MG's fame) and he was one of the constants in the Memphis recording scene. He and about five other guys did EVERYTHING in the studios for about 30 years and can trace every trend in the Memphis Blues to that small cadre of musicians. The only thing that changed were the headliners.

Glad you like them E!
They sound remarkably like a late 60's/ early 70's English Psych/Folk band, especially considering that they're from Philly!
I think they've been listening to some Pentangle, with the "witchy" vocals even!

Thanks!
One of my all-time faves!

Glad you enjoyed that one H! Here's the Chicago extended version, with some great shots of Terry Kath.

Ha! Just found Espers on Spotify. If you guys don't use Spotify, you should check it out. It's like having a library of all the music ever made. Espers is my sort of band - Vocals remind me of Sandy Denny era Fairport Convention. By coincidence, I've just spent the day listening to old Tull, Fairport, and Steeleye Span, so Espers fits in nicely.

 Pentangle, Espers, Penzance and Earl Grey tea for me this morning!
