Good Morning!
I came in from doing chores and there was a bee bumping up and down the door glass. I decided to help it out and just as it was almost free it gave me a sting then flew out the door. I loaded up a Diplomat with Westminster, poured a cup of coffee, and, I'm trying to forget my swollen, throbbing finger.

Good morning my fellow BoBs.
Well what can I say, phew what a birthday weekend that was, I think I can remember most of it, but I'm going to need a month to detox lol.
Oh well back to normality. Today I'm going to part load one of my new pipes, and start breaking it in.
Oh the new pipes, when Mrs Z threw me the catalogue I was spoilt for choice, but decided on 2 petes from their Evening collection.
Both Army Ebonies with a stirling silver mount and marblesk stem.
Pipe one
Is a Peterson Evening XL21 a bent briar with a large sized, Dublin shaped bowl. It has a thick wall, with a fairly deep bowl and large bore
Pipe two
The Peterson Evening XL21 a very distinctive classic Bulldog with a diamond shaped straight shank and the classic double groove round another large bowl.
Along with these, Mrs Z also bought me 4 tins of tobacco, of various blends, which I haven't tried before. (Report will follow).
I did get a new Savinelli from my brother, and 6 tins of tobacco. But I'll save that report for another day too. As this post is fast turning into a book.
So it's Petersons Early Morning pipe in the XL21 Evening Bulldog, for its first gentle smoke.
Have a great day my friends 😊 View attachment 12099
Wow, nice score Zip. All I got for my birthday was a wall art plaque that says "Don't flatter yourself cowboy I was only admiring your horse". LOL.

Good morning everyone. Zippo, glad you had a good birthday bash. And some nice presents. Your wife is a jewel. I have to buy my own pipes and tobacco, lol. Although wifey did spring for a couple of new shirts for me from Walmart yesterday. Having CS Shepherds Pie in a Pete Pub with cowboy coffee. Heading out to HwH in a couple of hours to muck amd feed, then over to the ranch for wifey to ride Teddy.

Nice, quiet 68F rainy morning. Being very lazy with 2015 MacB's Golden Extra, 2013 Granger, 2021 Gatlin-Burley, and 2021 Watch City Slice in a variety of modified bamboo-shanked & acrylic-stemmed Cobs. Several formerly belonged to the late FishNBanjo!! All chased with dark, strong Colombian coffee!! FTRPLT

PS Luxury Bullseye Flake in a Bacchus meerschaum. I read Pipe Crafting cover to cover. One of the tobacco plants is starting to turn yellow in the bottom leaves. And it is going to get over 100 every day for the next two or three days. The county fair starts today. Rodeo tomorrow!
Are you entering some tobacco? Around here, this is a common thing to enter at the fair along with other ag crops.

What a great day for you and a nice pipe and tobacco haul. I found one other pipe I thought you'd like for your collection -and I must say Peterson has good tastes in choosing a good name- it's a Zippo 😉

Nearing the half way mark on this bowl of early 2000s Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Watching Mad Dog Russo.

That's a nice looking pipe.
Thank you, Swede. When I see a nice looking estate stamped from a noted B&M tobacconist I do try to snag it -- especially if they're no longer in business. They're usually relatively inexpensive, and I appreciate its connection to history.

No, I'm not entering my tobacco. It's pretty big in August, as you know, and I've never seen tobacco in the agriculture barn. But I've done pigs and rabbits, I entered a poem once! My sister runs a 4H club and we're there for support. I'll keep my eyes peeled, maybe ask somebody for next year. Good idea, Swede!

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am passing the quarter mark on this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Cafe 645, neat, is my drink.
