Great book. Never get tired of it.

I've read all of Ruarks books. It doesn't get any better than "The Old Man and the Boy". I've read it off and on for 50 years.

The Old Man and the Boy by Robert Ruark I pick this book up every few years to read again. Either in part or cover to cover. Must have been reading about 50 years now.

There is an excellent film of this book staring Ed Harris. It is defenitely worth watching. An unbeliveable story.

Has anyone read the autobiography "Wanderer" by Sterling Hayden?  He led an unusual life and did a little bit of everything. Actor, writer, sailor, war hero & drinker. He also wrote a pretty good novel "Voyage."

Yeah, I remember when every drugstore in town had a large selection of inexpensive pipes and probably two dozen brands of pipe tobacco. Those days are long gone now. I think I've outlived my time. Just a few recollections from an old codger. DC in Texas
