    Hearth & Home AJ's VaPer

I got this on my list. I currently have a tin of Louisiana Red that I have to smoke through first. I also tried their Virginia Spice which I liked very much. You can definitely sense the cigar leaf in this blend.

Drew Estate MUWAT Kentucky Fire Cured

Dave Have you tried the Herrera Esteli yet? Not a maduro but a fantastic cigar in its own right. This is coming from primarily a cigar smoker instead of a pipe smoker. I also love the Liga Privada lines but they are just too expensive for me. The Sam Leccia Black also has KFC tobacco in it...

    What are you smoking?

Having mixed results with C&D Haunted Bookshop. I'm finding it is very sensitive to the way the bowl is packed. Seems like it can get too condensed very easily and it spoils the smoke making it harsh. This stuff definitely seems to be a stronger tobacco to me in terms of nicotine content, but...

Thoughts on GLP Union Square and Virginia Tobacco

Its amazing how everyone's tastes are different. I too do not care for the ketchup scent and taste from McClelland blends and quickly transitioned to English and Oriental mixtures that I found were too rough for my mouth. I was and still am a heavy cigar smoker. I've been really enjoying...

    Thoughts on C&D Haunted Bookshop

The more I smoke this blend the more I am appreciating it. I was so set on being an English blend smoker but got turned off by how raw my mouth always felt after smoking them that I tended to give up versus expanding my choices to VaPers and burley Now that I am focusing on the other tobacco...

    Thoughts on C&D Haunted Bookshop

Just opened a tin of C&D Haunted Bookshop. These are my initial notes on my first bowl. Med and dark brown cube cut. Smells nutty and sweet. Appears faily dry right out of the tin. Nutty woody flavor with some underlying pepper. Pepper is medium in strength and really tingles the tongue...

Well I opened the tin of Dunhill Deluxe Navy Roll: Sweet pungent aroma. More red than Escudo. Stronger in flavor deeper and heavier more pepper and pungenty. Escudo is more mellow this is more direct and in your face. Similar profiles but this smokes hotter but no tongue bite. I prefer...

Deluxe Navy rolls and Escudo. What say you?

well I just popped open a tin of Deluxe Navy Rolls and in comparison to a 2 yr old tin of Escudo I can say that visually the DNR are more red in color and a bit darker. The aroma in the tin is much stronger than Escudo and more pungent. Here are my tasting notes: Sweet pungent aroma. More...

Deluxe Navy rolls and Escudo. What say you?

Resurrecting an old thread. I currently rate Escudo as my favorite tobac right now and am currently smoking a tin from 2013. I just order a tin of DDNR and am looking forward to a comparison. I'll post my 2 cents in about a week.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll probably save that one for last so I can brush up on my techniques a bit more.

    Escudo noob

Escudo is my favorite tobacco to date. It is the most forgiving when it comes to bad packing as well as tongue bite. I generally rub the coins out but I have folded them and loaded my pipes as well. I prefer to rub them out though. I don't have an issue with nicotine so I don't consider this...

OK I ordered the following: C&D Haunted Bookshop Dunhill Deluxe Navy Rolls Samuel Gawith St. James Flake H&H Louisiana Red I have already tried H&H Virginia Spice and did like this a lot, but not as much as Escudo. This was also one of the few I've had that didn't give me tongue bite. These...

I once again gave the pipe a try. I'm still a full fledged cigar guy, but wanted to give it a go again. I finally discovered that English blends are not for me (I don't like the after taste of Latakia and Orientals light my tongue on fire). I did open a 2yr old tin of Escudo and successfully...
