Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am passing the first third of this bowl of year 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. I may end the day with this smoke.

Tomato the Brave walked with me for the last third of the last lap of my first set of walks today. And, he wanted inside, so I let him do that. We had company, and as Tomato is the Goodwill Ambassador of the ferals, he soon made friends with the lady. Both enjoyed the time together. Later in the evening, Tomato enjoyed a little play time, too.

Abner the Eager and Harry the Hairy fenced over who was going to eat. It didn’t matter there were two plates of dry food out. Both ended up leaving, but Abner returned to eat. I haven’t seen Harry since then.

Sam the Scamp came to eat right after all of that, and he got along with Abner this time. They behave better inside the house.

Under the weather today, had a fever most of last night. Wondering what kind of bug I picked up and where. Just having my coffee this morning, might have a pipe later this evening if I perk up. Seems like everyone is having challenges today, Bad Moon on the Rise.
How are you feeling today?

Good Afternoon my friends.
Today is my Dog Frodo's 13th birthday. So he has had lots of extra fuss this morning, and I thought you might like to see a short video of him, opening his presents.
Ranger my friend try and slow up a bit buddy, we don't want to see both you and Carole laid up.
Okay, so I'll shut up, and tell you what I'm smoking. Today it's Rangers Urban Cowboy in my Peteson/Zippo collaboration rusticated Billiard. Dang I love this blend. Have a great day my friends 😊

Almost 7pm and I am finally getting around to a pipe. Been busy as hell all day. Got up at 6:30 to take Charlie out but with 6" of new snow he really didn't want to go out on the turf. Peed on the patio rug. Pooped on the patio, lol. Fed him, then shoveled the turf so Molly and Augie would go out. Got wifey settled in then called USVets to see if any other volunteers showed up for lunch feeding. No one else did, so cleaned off the driveway with the snowblower so I could get the truck out. It's 4WD but our driveway is kind of steep and if I don't clean at least 25' the truck slides coming out. Went down and served lunch. Good thing as I was the only volunteer to show and serve lunch. Came out 3 hours later and had another 6" of snow on the truck. Got home and our neighbor who has been walking Charlie for us was out shoveling her driveway. Couldn't let her do that so took the blower over and cleaned her drive. Then she asked if I would do her neighbors. He is a disabled vet and his wife is 78 years old and weighs about 75 lbs. So did theirs too. Then came home, cleared our driveway again so I could get the truck in the garage without taking out the wall, lol. Then had to clear the turf again as it had a new foot of snow. Still blowing snow so settled in the garage nook with some GLP Quiet Nights in a Maestro de Paya bent Rhodesian and a cup of joe. EZ, glad you're feeling better. Think I got your pain, lol. Back is killing me. Got an appointment for a massage tomorrow. Hope it helps. Good evening BoBs.
Man @Ranger107 you are a great neighbor!

Off a bit today and still working to clean up that hickory I dropped. Most of the work is drudgery, so I reserve time for Amphora Original in an MM Pride raw cob with forever stem. Then, my fun is splitting these little limb pieces with a Fiskars X15 axe. Hickory can be tough, but splitting it green makes it go better. The Sassafras in the pile splits easily.

How old is Frodo?

How are you feeling today?
Not bad but definitely not over this. Just following general sickness protocols: fluids, rest, and simple diet. None the worse for smoking yesterday. If it doesn't clear up by Monday I'll call the doctor's office. The fever gave me some anxiety but it hasn't returned. I have eliminated the most obvious causes but I really don't want to open a can of worms about it.

Been a busy morning. Massage therapist called to reschedule. Said she needed a couple of hours to dig her car out of the snow. So called to reschedule my Dr. appt. and they weren't open yet either. Just a yearly check up so need the massage more than the Dr. Lol. Finally settled in the garage nook with my last bowl of Cattle Drive before I start on the Round Up blend. 3rd mug of morning coffee. No new snow last night but a lot of glazed over ice. Hope everyone has a great day.

We had freezing rain yesterday with a transition to sleet and wet snow. It is now about 10F so the roads are a disaster waiting to happen. I have no plans to go anywhere but I can hear emergency vehicles regularly. It always stuns me that people who drive in snow for half the year don't have more sense about it.

Gonna fill the little Lorenzetti with Mark Twain and codger some more to myself about common idiocy over my coffee. Common sense has become the rarest currency in the world.

Not far from finishing this bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

I am watching a documentary entitled "Lancaster" on Netflix. I still make kit models and I have been sitting on a 1/48th scale kit of the Avro Lancaster for a few years. I like to get some research and detail on the aircraft before I begin, to get as much right as I can. The Lancaster is iconic and I do not want to bodge the kit with "rookie" mistakes. It will take about 120 hours I think.

Anyway, having some Old Professor in the big Lorenzetti and a pint of stout while I "research". I always marvel at the courage of these veterans because I have been fortunate to grow up in a time of relative peace.
