    Penzance

This morning I decided to see if any of it was available on an auction-site and what it was worth,.......I was shocked to say the least!! It's selling for three times what I thought it was worth. Thanks for your help, gentlemen.

    Penzance

Thanks, I'm hoping not to hear any horror stories about pouched tobacco. I have no idea what it sells for anywhere, I just know it was one of my favorite blends ever, and I was NOT about to toss it out with the rest of the stuff.

    Penzance

Evening gentlemen, I haven't been around for quite a while and I have a question. I had to quit smoking a few years ago...but I did however hang onto my stash,...until now. I've already disposed of all of it but three unopened 8 oz. bags of Penzance that have been in a dark room inside my...

    What grain do you prefer?

Not much of a straight-grain guy, I prefer cross-grain with a lot of burl or birdseye on the sides of the bowl. I really love nice sandblast pipe. A Rustificated pipe is my LEAST favorite pipe..... and I unfortunately have several of them.

Can you tell me anything about this?

The similarities are striking,......the colors of yours and mine are much closer than these two hastily made photos reveal. My pipe is actually pretty dark. Mine is a "Sasiene" "4Dot" "Rough Root Dark" made in the 1980's "London Briar" "Made in London". The stem logo is four symetrical sky...

    Lets hear some Howlin Wolf

Thanks,....I was looking for something to listen to tonight. Wang Dang Doodle by Howlin Wolf, (the top offering), contains one of my all time favorite guitar riffs in it. Some of you might recognize it from a TV commercial featuring a guy driving home in a '69 Camero with ED.

    Disposable lighters.

Funny story. Never had the pocket-lint problem, but your story does make me glad I don't have to carry my lighter in my belly-button! That could pose a fire-ball problem.

    Latakia

The majority of my favorite blends contain Latakia. I love anything smoked,....bacon, poblanos, ribs, brisket, breakfast sausage, cheese, balogna, pork butt, you name it,.....and of course; tobacco!

Forget Penzance, Taco Flavored Doritos are back!

I haven't experienced any tongue bite as of yet,......I did get in a hurry about halfway through my first bowl and bit the hell out of my cheek though. I forgot to mention the room note is not exactly aromatic,....according to a few colleagues who ventured into my office shortly after I had...

Forget Penzance, Taco Flavored Doritos are back!

I'm on my fourth bag and can't stop. I've been unable to hoard any 'cause I keep eating them!!! They're flying out of the B&Ms around here almost as fast as the ever-elusive Jack Knife Plug did!

    Ice Storm

The weather nuts are predicting 6"-8" of snow here in Oklahoma City so the schools are all closed and so are government offices. They've been announcing the closing of almost everything in the state since this morning. I stopped at the grocery store this afternoon to pick up some Diet Coke to...

    Holmes Novels

I've got an old hard-bound Doubleday edition of The Complete Sherlock Holmes,....at a thickness of over two inches, it's a lap-full,...but I love it dearly!!

    RIP Charlie Louvin

Now that ladies and gentlemen is Country Music. Good old two-stepping Country Music. May God rest his soul. Thanks for posting that.

    Smoking "Cabin"

That is too cool!! It takes a lot to impress me,......but that little hide-away is awesome! Congratulations!!

Where are SG and Esoterica tobaccos?

I was told just this morning in a telephone converstation with a large supplier that there is a combination of two problems, number one; there are only a few people working at several blending houses and they are working their butts off trying to keep up with demand. Two; as soon as some of the...

    Stem cleaning

I am not a chemist, but from what I've learned and I have no doubt is true, the "oxidation" is not oxidation, it's the sulfur leaching out of the vulcanized rubber. Sulfur is used in the vulcanization process and as the chemical bonds weaken over a period of time the sulfur is released causing...

    Beaters

At work I carry a little short Red Dot "Sport" around in my uniform pants pocket. It takes up less room than my cell phone and if it breaks, which is very doubtful, it's no big deal. It sure is nice to pull out after a good working house fire in the middle of the night and light-her-up!
