New Snuff Grinder (Snuff Making Thread)

Thanks for the second link. I make a pipe restoring/polishing compound that works wonders on getting rid of the oxidation and actually goes into the vulcanite and nullifies the sulfur. I treated all my pipes six years ago and there's still not a sign of oxidation anywhere. One of the...

    Hobbies?

Picking a lock is like working a puzzle with all the parts still in the box and using a small piece of metal to move all those parts into the proper position. It can be very simple or extremely difficult depending on the lock and the pickers skill.

    Tom Sawyer and a cob

Never used a twig but did use reed stems. Already hollow, plentiful and easy find one of the required diameter. Still use reed stems in one of my clays.

    Made it trough another year

I'm 65 today. When I had the first heart attack at 37 followed by 4 more and a triple bypass and 9 stents I sure as heck never expected to make it this far. Sometimes it makes me wonder what I was put in this world to do. Whatever it was it looks like I haven't done it yet. I suppose I'll get it...

    More news from another surgeon

Thanks everyone for the good wishes, thoughts and prayers. Indiana isn't a medical cannabis state but I've already tried it anyway on the advice of a medical man who for obvious reasons must remain nameless. It didn't help. I'm under a pain management contract to a good doctor and he has...

    More news from another surgeon

To make it short, surgeon number five has refused to operate on my back due to the condition of my heart. His words were, "Surgery would probably kill you and I don't want to be the instrument of your death. Your legs will get worse and will hurt so bad that you will be unable to walk very...

    Attention Please.

I've had five attacks and was hospitalized two weeks ago with a bout of atrial fibrillation. Still puffin. May not be a smart thing to do but no one ever accused me of being smart. The surgeon that did the bypass told me the pipe most likely would not hurt me.

    PA original....?

I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of those old tins of PA that was found stashed in a wall. That tobacco is nearly a hundred years old (tax stamp says 1918). The new stuff tastes nothing like the old. Even the cut is different. I know the tobacco in this old tin would probably have been...

who has made perique at home

YouTube? You sure you don't have me confused with someone else? You more or less supported what I posted about what I've read. There's real Perique and there's false "Perique".

    Fixed Blade Knife

I only use the sidewalk to lap my aluminum oxide stone. I just wet a fairly smooth spot of sidewalk and started rubbing the stone against it in circular motions. If I had water stones I'd only use a Nagura or lapping stone.
