    Howdy from a new member

While you may not meet us face to face, know that there is a vast community of pipe smokers out there who are more than happy than to share the experience. Welcome aboard!

    Confusion

Haha. Shouldn't we all. And by we I mean noobies such as myself. Although I have found I can learn so much just by lurking around and reading different posts. I am thrilled with how wonderful this forum really is.

    Confusion

Am I losing my mind or did the Trading Post category disappear off the main page? I always loved to check in to see what people were swapping and such as I was waiting for me to pass the 30/30 rule. Let me know if I'm the only one this happened to or that others noticed this too. -Zach

    Dentist

I hate the dentist. I hate the sound of the metal against my teeth and then they usually whine at me that I haven't gotten my wisdom teeth removed. The thing is, they don't bother me, so why would I want to submit myself to the pain and fiasco of getting them removed. Their way to get more...

    New pipe rack, finally.

Thanks for the info! It seems the more I look, the more I'm drawn to the Savinellis, especially because they carry the author/bulldog/bulauthor shape I find so appealing.

    New pipe rack, finally.

Richard, What pipe is the one on the middle rack in the first spot on the left? The shape and finish really caught my attention because that's the style of pipe I've been looking for. Thanks for any help, Zach

    young smokers

Me and my buddy already get this at school. We usually put a chair out on the fraternity house porch and enjoy. We usually get odd looks and people call us old, but we embrace it, tell them to get off our steps, and pour and Old Fashioned.

    Suggestions for first tin tobacco

I'd really like to find a good tin tobacco to start out with. I've only smoked aromatics, but when I smoke cigars I like a more robust and smokey flavor. Any suggestion as to what tin would be good for my kind of tastes?

    Authors and Bulldogs

Idlefellow, Thank you for truly showing me what the differences between the pipes are. I'm still torn as to which one I like more. Very impressive collections of each type as well.

    First, second, who can tell???

Paul, I thank you for asking this question because I learned a lot from this as well. As I'm still on the search for my first briar pipe, I now have a better, if still a little cloudy, understanding of a first and second pipe. Thanks again for asking and thanks to all who responded. Always...

I was actually directed to BoB because of r/pipetobacco. I agree that the community is not as large, but it is nice to have.

    Smoking with folk

I started as a solitary smoker as well, but quickly met up with a fraternity brother who also enjoys the pipe. It was a great time sitting out on the porch of the fraternity house on a cold November night after finals. It was a great night of conversation and relaxation.
