    Hal O' The Wynd Tin

Absolutely, I'll post it in the Trading section. I'd considered just posting it there originally since it's more fitting but thought heck it's an older post with a somewhat fun story (amazing that it was in my tobacconist's for so long... you never know what you might find) that some of the...

How are Samuel Gawith 250g boxes packaged inside?

Keeping in mind that Iowa is usually fairly humid I wasn't surprised that a 250g box of 1792 Flake will keep well in the short term using a couple large ziplocs to hold the box.. but in all honesty it's way easier and longer lasting to jar 'em! Best wishes!

when dose a hobby turn to a habit

I think ultimately it's what works best for you and your health.. it's certainly possible to get addicted to anything. I found that I've had more of an issue with PAD and TAD than smoking itself. As a former cigarette smoker I can say that I don't crave a pipe the same way by a long shot.. nasty...

    Hal O' The Wynd Tin

My apologies if anyone has looked for it and had no luck, I didn't realize it sometimes takes up to 24 hours for an item to post lol. Any folks who have had vintage HOTW? It's quite an interesting critter once it's been aged, though it's been a while since I smoked it

    Hal O' The Wynd Tin

Just in case anyone is interested  (it's been a while but I still love BoB!) I have posted one of the tins to eBay as a buy now or best offer.. a quick search there should bring it up :-)

    RIP Doc Watson

It's been some time since I've posted and perhaps there aren't many who are still here from when I used to post more frequently. I wish this post could be a more positive one. The legendary Doc Watson has passed away at 89. Because he was such a legend, I chose to post this in The Round Table...

    young smokers

Even though this is my first post in months and I haven't smoked a pipe for a while (life loves to get in the way, doesn't it?), I'm 20.

The 1st Annual Ken Collins Exchange.

Hey fellas, sorry for not posting sooner. The box shall leave for it's recipient very soon. I'm a little squeezed for time at the moment, but I'll get a description of the goodies I received ASAP. Cheers everyone and please forgive the fact I've been so quiet lately.

The 1st Annual Ken Collins Exchange.

Well fellas, I checked with one of my sisters to see if anything had arrived at home and the answer was YES! I had her inspect the markings.. it came from the Ken Collins Appreciation Society. Being the patient type that I am, I begged my sister to send a pic of the goodies as soon as she...

The 1st Annual Ken Collins Exchange.

Hey fellas, looks like things are going great! Makes me super-excited to send out my package this weekend.. I'm gonna try my darndest to make this package something Ken would be proud of. The last week or so hasn't been the most pleasant for me but things like this keep me feeling positive...

Not To Make Anyone Feel Like an Old Fart...

Very interesting comments, guys. The more I read, the more I realized I must fall into the category of old fart.. at 19 lol. Actually, I think I have for quite some time. I was always particularly attached to my grandpa who was the perfect example of a simple, yet highly intelligent, farmer. A...

    Spring Forward Box Pass?

Personally, I love Secret Santa-type things, especially on a board like BoB. It seems like it would be fitting to dedicate it to Ken's memory.

    Late Nite Ramblings

I usually think about it as soon as I've gotten comfortable  I have to wonder what Bob's Chocolate Flake would taste like while drinking chocolate milk lol. I'm guessing either really good or really bad :suspect:

Not To Make Anyone Feel Like an Old Fart...

...but, I have a short paper I'm doing for a class on marketing targeting baby-boomers, and the common use of deception (or subterfuge if ya wanna be deceptive in labeling it) and I thought it might be interesting to get some experiences from some of the fine young members on our forum who fall...

    McClelland going out of business.

That was a scary thought before I actually saw the post  luckily, I was relieved once I saw PB had posted it

    Yikes!

The lucky thing for us pipesmokers is that we can't smell the baccy while we're smoking :P It's sad to see so few teachers/professors smoking a pipe these days. I kinda had a hope maybe I would get lucky and see one of my professors outside lighting up a pipe... unfortunately, it doesn't...

Do you have kids in college?

I just started college this semester... fortunately I got a pretty quiet dorm.. not that partying isn't fun.. but I would prefer to save any of the small amount of partying I do for the weekend and not at my dorm lol. That said, the video was pretty cool.. they could be doing a lot worse for...

It's Madness I Tell You: A Little Contest

Ill say $295.. crazy what people are willing to spend on 50g of baccy.. but I guess there are enough people who're willing to.. wouldn't mind being the guy who sells it lol.
