That was a great show. We've been binging on old cop shows. Went through NYPD Blue, now into Hill Street Blues. Amazing how relevant some of the episodes are to current issues.I found most of Taxi is available for free on Pluto TV. Paramount + has the entire series. It was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I don't think I've seen it since. I'm about to find out how well it holds up.
Indeed. NYPDB hit on so many core topics and in meaningful, timeless ways. Just incredible. That was a great show. We've been binging on old cop shows. Went through NYPD Blue, now into Hill Street Blues. Amazing how relevant some of the episodes are to current issues.
I don't think I've seen a pipe, but they're often smoking cigars. To addend what I originally posted, the subplot of one of the characters owning a tobacco factory, it does become something, as they want to sell it because it is so time consuming and a family business they never wanted. They've at least talked about pipe tobacco. They never use a name, but because of the size of what they're talking, I'm thinking it could be Peter Stokkebye. I've wondered it all along, but some things happen in the latter seasons that make me think it might very well be. Just an additional crumb that might make this interesting for some. It has continued to impress me.PBS has been reaching into lesser tier streaming stations(?) and airing things from Acorn and Walter's Choice. I think that is the name. Smart for them to work with PBS to get international programming seen here. Our local station has been airing season 3 of Badehotellet, aka Seaside Hotel, a Danish version of something along the lines of Downton Abbey. People well-to-do enough to spend the summer at a seaside hotel, with the staff holding up the other side of the show. It's subtitled. It's not as well written as Downton Abbey, and it has a simpler vibe to it. I've been really enjoying it. I believe there are eight seasons. As I was looking it up, I think it is steaming on Amazon Prime and maybe AppleTV. And one of the characters runs a tobacco company or works for a tobacco company. It's of no significance to the storylines, but it's there.
