Does anyone know of any pipe carvers in MN? I'd like to get my smoking buddy a pipe made in his homestate for the holidays.

Thanks!!

RM "Bob" Davison of Burnsville, MN makes some really nice pipes. I am the proud owner of several that are on his website. He carved an incredible Eskimo / Ukulele for me! He also carved a beauty for Skaukatt. I got him started carving Eskimo shapes. I call him the "King of the Eskimos" since he has carved at least half a dozen +/- since he did mine. :p

Bob has been away for a while, but he is back to carving. He's a great B.O.B. and makes some incredible pipes.

There's also the excellent Lewis pipe shop (maybe it's Lewis Pipe Shop, Maybe Lewis Pipe and Cigars) in downtown Minneapolis on Marquette Avenue. Father and son in the shop are pipe makers/carvers. (Too bad their fine store is so small!)

I 2nd Rich Lewis. If you walk down Nicollet in the warmer months, you'll often catch him standing outside the building in his apron, taking a break. The rent in his location must be very high. I'm sure that square footage demands a premium. Great city. One of the best.

Indeed, I concur!

I have one of Rich Lewis' "Armadillo" pipes and it is superb. You can occasionally find one of his pipes on Ebay, too.

Rich's Armadillo finish is an original.

Thanks so much for all the responses everyone! I've been chatting with Bob Davison and he's helping me out.
