I don't know if you heard, but we have been getting hit by some very bad storms in the south west of England, 70mph winds and horizontal rain (which is interesting) making lots of rivers burst their banks and leaving about 800 houses flooded in our county. I got back from my Comic-Con-esque convention last night and have been out all day today helping with flood defences and checking on old folks.

Luckily the storms here have not flooded the house or garden.... well, there's a couple of inches in the utility room but that's not too bad as its lower than the road. We have been totally flooded before and its not nice.

Anyhow, I just came home to a suspicious number of 'sorry we missed you' notes, and a couple of suspect parcels that had been left in the rain. It's nice to know that no matter how bad things get, you guys are lurking nearby to make things a bit worse.

So, come the morrow I shall collect the parcels and post the evidence of the bombs! Thank you guys, you are a special bunch.

Ah its so much fun though, we got banned from the toilets because we tried to go in at the same time as David Hasslehoff and his security detail thought we were up to no good.
 
the Hoff got you kicked out of the toilet, that is just classic. Where are the pictures of the cosplay chicks?

There was a trio of stripper stormtroopers, a slutty Supergirl, a Michelle Pfeiffer catwoman, a Anne Hathaway catwoman (both catwomen looked amazing, like ridiculously amazing), a Lara Croft, about 20 Japanese anime heroine characters, some sexy zombie girls from something I didn't recognise, a couple of blue bodypainted Mystiques (Xmen), some boobarella girls, power girl, some WoW themed Elven girls in nearly nothing, a lot of vampire chicks, there was a very hot Jedi woman who must have been breaking a lot of the Jedi tenants with what she was wearing, a body painted Poison Ivy, a bodypainted Harley Quinn, a couple of number sixes (BSG) and that was before you even started down the porn star wing.

Unfortunately, all the people mentioned above in photos might be considered not safe for work, and as such I will restrain myself from posting.
 
good, I actually don't want to see them, especially a body painted harleyquin that just might lead me to bad thoughts, and I try to avoid those

I wanted to go as Cmdr Sheppard, but unfortunately I'm still too heavy, and the internet doesn't need a new kind of Fat Batman meme. Maybe next year. I've already got the costume picked out

I did get invited to join an amateur wrestling group though, so thats something.
 
My 26 yr old son does Registration for the regional ComOreCon (the Ore is for Oregon) and has been on staff with them for a number of years. They usually have close to 4000 attend. Sounds trippy to me. It's a big part of his life. He does IT for a job and IT for their Registration system.

The pics you posted to the event over there are awesome! Some very professional cosplay going on.

Sorry Rev, you're right. It is a pretty kickass picture, befitting a God slayer. Kudos for posting!

Also looks a bit like a beefier version of the head Na'vi warrior from Avatar... if you kind of squint.

Hm, I'm kind of waiting for the parcels to stop before I post so I get them all together... got another couple today so I'm up to about 15 now so... that should be done right?
