Hey E, thanks for posting! I haven't seen that FYC video in ages. Roland Gift had a great voice, and I liked their version of "Suspicious Minds" as well. :cheers:

After listening to Bub´s Roland Kirk post I thought of another version of "Say a Little Prayer" I really like....

Man, that's one of the few things I hate about digital music distro... you don't get cool covers like that Mingus.

(I love the covers with illos for each song... obviously R. Crumb's Big Brother & the Holding Co. cover is one of my faves.)

Oh I agree! In many cases, it was the classic album cover art that made me want to listen to jazz and progressive rock in the first place.
 
West Coasting it, with Chet! I took a boat to Catalina Island a few days ago, reminded of this.
