What is Your Favorite Cornell & Diehl Blend?

I'm only familiar with the "Byzantium" blend, which I enjoyed to the point of saving the last bowl or two, for that really "bright moment". Before I dive into the range of blends they offer, I'd like to ask what other BOBers out there consider to be their best, or more modestly, your own favorite.
In advance, I'd like to say that I appreciate each and every response and look forward to reading each. :cherry:

Star of the East, flake or regular. Billy Budd, too. Everything else is either under a different name by them (Hermit/GLP) which hold the rest of my favorites.

C&D does a lot of stuff very, very right!

Then there's abominations like Mississippi Mud. :x

I think very highly of Pirate Kake and I've smoked several tins of Star of the East Flake and have several more cellared. I also like daVinci and Billy Budd.

Pirate Kake was good, then I discovered Ten Russians.

Not sure where they get their Latakia, but that coupled with excellent blending makes for a happy Weiss.

I have been in love with many of their blends. Tastes change all the time for me. Ummmm....Purple Cow. Or maybe Bridge Mixture. No, Billy Budd! Wait! Make that Bayou Night.

I really like their #126 - Old Joe Krantz, although Billy Bud and Star of the East are fine blends also.

Amen, brother.

#973 Cordial is a close second, but Engine 99 has been my mainstay blend for over three years now.

Just tried the pressed option but find that buries the magnificent flavor profile and makes it almost indistinguishable from Pirate Kake (which I like as well).

For a VaPer: C&D Red Carpet...swoooooooon. Tins of that just evaporate here.

Bulk: Yale Mixture or Star of the East.

But if there can be only one.. Rajah's Court.

There are three or four Pease blends that are actually blended by CD that I'd put over any blend with the CD label...that said, of the blends in the CD line, I'd add my name to the Billy Budd list. Autumn Evening is a damn close second (two totally different blends, I just happen to be in the mood for something stout more frequently than sweet).

Different Questions..


While changing the manufacturing of the blend would change the taste to a certain degree, the manufacturer and the blender are two wholly different things.
