    40 year old pipe tobacco

I came across a tin of 20 year old Mac Barrens pipe tobacco, I humidified and it did smoke very well, with a bit more body than new tobacco of the same type. Weather it was due to age, curing, harvest etc. I cannot say. Also, in this day and age of Ebay and Collectors. If you come across...

    Robert Downey Jr. As Sherlock????

As far as the “visual Sherlock”, Downie is just not working for me ….I guess having the entire Jeremy Brett Granada version does not help.

Big decisions in the executive suite

Here in Fun City ........I will admit I have become a “Closet Smoker” (not literally a closet) in a well ventilated studio/study room. I just don’t need the condescending to confrontational remarks, not to mention the fines you can get for smoking in the population.

    "NEW" old pipes and tobacco

Great Find!! I had a similar experience, finding two Charatan Freehands about a year ago, I completely forgot about in storage. As I stated on another thread... much like real estate, I am glad I bought my collection before the current market.

Pipes You Want But Don't Want To Pay For

In general any fine pipe…These days prices have gone wild due to the “Collectability” factor also inflation and scarcity of Plateau briar. The Ben Wade freehand "First" Straight Grain Smooth Finish that cost me $35 in the late 70’s or the $125 one of a kind hand made by a local pipemaker...

    Throat Hurts after smoking pipe

I never get pain …as stated gentile puffs, I always have a drink, coffee or tea with a pipe. After smoking I always use a mouth rinse and most times brush my teeth, I only smoke a bowl or two a day. If I get throat infection - URI I don’t look at pipe for at least two weeks.

    Ben Wade -- opinions

When I was first starting collecting pipes I thought the term “Freehand” suggested you needed a free hand to smoke it. I never tried from that time to hold one with my teeth.
