    Shaving soap recommendation

Before I grew out my beard I used Truefitt & Hill oil before the shaving cream or soap. It worked reLly well for me.

Tobacco hating spouse, urban living arrangements…

I'm a widower now, so it's moot.  Since we were dating, my wife loathed every form of tobacco, but I smoked cigarettes, cigars, and pipes.  She wanted no smoking in the house, but since it was my house too, and I was a smoker, that didn't fly.  We agreed that I wouldn't smoke in the bedroom, and...

    beard oil

My favorite is "Snake Oil" unscented. A single vial lasts about a year, so it's very inexpensive. I only use it once a week, instead of every day like they suggest. It makes my unruly beard somewhat easier to manage, and, most importantly, it keeps it from itching.

    Dunhill makes cologne.

They also make wallets, ties, shirts, and stuff like that. They no loner make pipes, cigars, tobacco, or smokers requisites. They continue to sell some of these things using the brand "the white spot", although they don't make any of it any more. "Dunhill" branded stuff, like pipe tobacco, is...

    Shaving soap recommendation

Tabac is my favorite shaving soap. It gives nice, rich foam; it smells great; a single cake lasts forever; plus, it uses the associations of "tabac" as a selling point. While traditional vendors such as Dunhill seek to make their brand independent from us smokers, Tabac (which doesn't smell of...

    Xikar?

Lately I have been using a Xikar Scribe. I got it mostly for the novelty aspect, plus I think it looks great. Mine is done in briar and satin steel. I love the thing! It lights on the first try every time, and because of its shape it's very easy to put the flame inside the bowl without...

I will try mudding it too. It's too gorgeous a pipe to just sit there abandoned...

    Fashion faux pas? You decide...

Actually, fellas, one of the girls designed the uniform because the team could not afford to have a pro do it.  The design was even approved by government body that sponsors them!  Both the impromptu designer and the bureaucrats involved have stated that they didn't realize the gold/tan color...

This is what the beginnings of briar burnout looks like.

A while back I spotted a beautiful estate Cornelius Mänz I just had to get my hands on.  I bought it, cleaned it, and smoked it.  It got really hot at the bottom.  Next time, I was careful to smoke it very slowly, but the bottom still got too hot to handle.  When I put it down to clean it, I was...

    Upshall pipes?

A few years ago I bought three separate Upshall pipes listed as "new old stock" on ebay.  They were all grade P.  One of them, a straight bulldog, had the stem drilled off center so it gurgles like crazy.  Another, a bent pot, had a horrible looking logo stamp -- I confronted the seller (the...

May I see your bent bulldogs?

That Dunhill is one of my favorite pipes. Not only it is beautiful, it's a very sweet smoker. OTOH, I apologize for the crooked picture. I think Photobucket was having a bad hair day. No matter what I did, I could not get it to rotate properly, so I just gave up and decided to post it like that.

    Paronelli Pipes???

What a beautiful pipe! I have never bought one of their pipes, but I have bought a couple of estates and a few accessories from them. Their website is fantastic!
