I was always told that burley builds cake faster, but that Virginias build a stronger cake. as I smoke Virginias almost exclusively, my pipes all have cake built with Virginias and then a couple are used to smoke Lat blends.

I think stale smoke smell comes more from dirty ashtrays than anything else. Just dump and wash your ashtray before bed and maybe some airfreshener if needed.

Usually the way my pipes are stored in the rack is dependent on whether they CAN be stored bowl down. I prefer the bowl down position, but most of the racks I have seen and ALL that I own do not allow for this, consequentially I tend to store them bowl up. I have encountered no problems with...
