I own a sandblasted Norsedog. They are made by Briarworks as Sasquatch says. My Norsedog is a great little smoker. It is not too thin-walled. It's a relatively small pipe - I'd say a group 3 with a group 2 sized tobacco chamber. Smokes Va. flakes like a champ.

Great thread! 5100 and McCranie's Red Ribbon are two of my favorite tobaccos and I smoke them a lot. I wouldn't expect no difference between the two though. I don't think they are an equal substitution. In my very humble opinion, McCranie's is a top shelf version of 5100. I like it better...

I prefer my pipes "dirty." I call them well seasoned. My pipes are lucky to get a pipe cleaner passed through them after each smoke. I typically smoke two bowls a day out of the same pipe then rest it for several days. I only clean with spirits when they need it which in my opinion is maybe...
