Tucking in the 5th Field Artillery

Right on, appreciate it. Let your dad know that now they call us gun-bunnies and, sometimes, "the deaf guys", though Im sure that was also an apt description back in his day ;)

Tucking in the 5th Field Artillery

So, uhhhh, Im not sure what kind of arm-chair general you are, pal, but I, and roughly 700 other soldiers, would appreciate it if you didnt post erroneus information implying we arent who we say we are. Prick.

Tucking in the 5th Field Artillery

Uhhhh, Battery D has been deactivated for a very long time. 5th FA's 1st Battalion is located at Riley, and the 2nd Battalion, which Im in, and have been in for the past 6 years, is here at Sill. All current batteries are descended from Battery D.

    Seeking info very odd pipe...

Good day, brothers!!! As of about 10 minutes ago, I became the owner of a very curious little pipe called a Derfields "Green" Pipe. It is in mint condition and comes in its original box. The seller had no info on it, and, as he was offering it for less than $10, I scooped it up. It is a...

    What are you smoking?

Blockade Runner from Cornell & Diehl in a newly-arrived Longchamp. TO CALL THIS STUFF POTENT WOULD BE MORE THAN A SLIGHT UNDERSTATEMENT!!!! It kicks harder than a mule with a taste for cocaine ;) Saying that, the taste is absolutely superb! None of the rum the blender mentions, but it doesnt...

Highland Park? The Mt. Hope area? But, ahem, yes. My judgement probably is biased a little bit, in that respect. Rochester does seem to produce a finer variety of the fairer sex.... ;)

    Vintage Longchamps

I wonder the same thing. Im an avowed leather-lover; fine, brown leathers, personally, the more exotic the better. No black leather here, not how I roll. I even have a full set of camel leather luggage I picked up in Kuwait for $200. Ive seen similar sets online for several thousand. Happiest...

Suggestions for an outstanding Black Cavendish experience?

Wow, ADA, eh? I think youd be suprised, Fort Sill has become the headquarters of the ADA. There is now 3 or 4 brigades here, with more coming, plus their AIT. The post and the town are both expanding rapidly. Im active duty at the moment, Im about to be medically retired. Ive been here with the...

    The best Sherlock Holmes

He is actually working his way through volume one of Bantam's Classic "The Complete Sherlock Holmes" box set, the same set I picked up at an estate sale back home in NY, when he was still just a little bump in his mom's belly. Im absolutely thrilled he has taken to them, I guess the apple doesnt...

    The best Sherlock Holmes

Slightly off-track, I think Jude Law has offered up the finest portrayal of John Watson. He's the only one I know of who portrays him in a sharp and more masculine light, and more of an equal to SH, rather than his side-kick

    What Are You Reading?

I began reading the novel Alamut by Vladimir Bartol, a story about Hassan-i-Sabbah, the "Master of Assassins" in Northern Iran in the middle ages. The story revolves around the group of girls he assembled as the "virgins of paradise" for his dedicated army of agents, as a reward for their...
