Good Morning!
Yesterday was the first day of winter and it was 17° this morning! Chores are done and coffee is made. Now it's time for GLP Westminster in a Peterson System 312 and a delicious cup of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe.

The sound of garbage and recycle trucks making tons of noises woke me up. Sleepy Suzy, who was snoozin' next to me wanted to eat, so I got up to feed her and Molly Danger. I looked out the window and saw that two big, thick, empty cardboard boxes must have fallen out of the recycle bin when they picked up. They left them in the middle of street instead of doing their job so I went and got them. It's rather cold out there, and Daisy the Feral Princess, Tomato the Brave and Sam the Scamp let me know they were hungry, so I had to feed each at a distance so all could eat in peace. By this time, I'm wide awake so I decided to smoke the one Charatan that I missed smoking yesterday. I'm a third of the way through this bowl of year 2012 Anniversary Kake in a smooth burgundy medium bend 1979 Chippendale (Charatan second) Rhodesian 49 with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Smokes as well as a first and worth the $19.95 I paid for it all those years ago.

Smoking some Peterson's Royal Yacht in a Genod apple. We had the Knoxville Pipe Club Christmas Party on Wednesday night and had a good showing of seven members. Lots of food offerings and cookies, not to mention bottles of Rye and Scotch. But nobody drank enough to get impaired for driving. Later we had the White Elephant Gift Exchange.

So what did you wind up with? At the Legion Riders dinner I got a basket with 2 bottles of sparkling wine, 2 wine glasses and some cheese. Should have stolen the bottle of Makers Mark bourbon, lol.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2014 Esoterica And So To Bed in a straight post-1981 GBD Prehistoric 133 billiard with brass accents, the letter K stamped on the shank with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Been quite a while since I smoked this pipe. Chatting with a good friend.

What is a PGR Buddy
Patriot Guard Riders. They do motorcycle escort rides and a flag line for veteran funerals and special events, like this birthday run for a 100 year old WWII Navy veteran who was in numerous battles and received numerous medals for his activities including the Navy Combat Badge and the French Medal of Honor.

I got two tins of tobacco - Low Country Cooper and Low Country Black. Also got a little metal cannon that comes off its frame to act as a pipe tamper. I should have stolen the two 100g. tins of 2004 McClelland Anniversary or the bottle of single malt scotch that was available for stealing. Sounds like you got a pretty good present if you like sparkling wine. Hope you have some great times during the holidays, Ranger!

Yep, definitely would have gone for the McClellands.

Simple ritual this morning with regular coffee. MM 150th in my Legend. Made my own egg nog last night for coffee, couldn't find any in a store. I'll never buy it again it is too easy to make how I like and in portions I'll use.

Sorry to hear some of you are combatting back issues, take care, be well for the holiday. We do a lot more preparing for holidays than we sometimes think. I don't mean to preach, the activity is all part of it, too. It's a reminder to myself as well.

Had a friend stop by for some tobacco and he stayed for coffee and conversation. I usually add tobacco to my orders for him but I won't be ordering until overnight temps are above freezing, the Pease and Drucquer tobacco that I order have water but no propylene glycol to keep them from freezing. After chores pipe is GLP Abingdon in a Rob Roy along with a cup of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee.
