    Beards, caps, and stereotypes

I think this story just keeps getting better and better! Lumberjack is generally an amusing misguided stereotype. One I got a lot living in New Hampshire when I did. Now all the people in Texas that I am friends with still call me "lobsterman!" for the time I spent on a lobster boat. Silly...

Best Brown #2 Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Struck gold!

Thank you for the welcome! haha! To be honest it's my first GH&Co blend, and I can say I am definitely a fan! "Good-natured" is a truly good definition of this blend. It's not for everyone like you mention, but for those that it is, it does provide great enjoyment.

    Back to matches

Matches do work great. With how windy it gets around these parts though, and with smoking out on the ranch and such quite often matches don't work out so well. Usually bring my regular zippo with me (with the wind screen) and it works quite well. Though if I am inside or at the B&M I will...

Best Brown #2 Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Struck gold!

It is not often that I have found a new tobacco that has struck me as this fantastic. When I first started smoking a pipe, naturally I found plenty of blends I enjoyed, and a few that became a favorite. 'But that was close to two years ago. This past Friday I got to try some Best Brown #2 at...

    A BoB Cob

Quite possible! I really have no clue. Sadly I have more experience with the corn crop and harvesting/planting it then I do the pipe making process ha.

    GL Pease Navigator

Sounds like a blend my grandfather would have smoked, that or one of the fishermen guys down by the pier. Must pick some up!

    A BoB Cob

Do like this idea. Doubt we'll see any decently sized corn crop. If I remember correctly MM ages/dries their cobs two years after their harvest before they start manufacturing pipes with em? So going back two years, the corn crop has been pretty crappy, even recently too. This doesn't even...

The future of pipe smoking is here, and it looks like ****

Looks like a cross between a weed pipe and a pregnancy test and one of them portable keychain ashtray deals. Do not want! Soon to be paired with Dunhills Peepin' Tom!

    Beards, caps, and stereotypes

I love stories like this as it frequently happens to me as well. Usually some comments about the beard and how people cannot grow them for they do not have the correct genetics or frankly are just the wrong gender. Then occasionally when I am at the local farm and supply store I get weird...

Starting an Abilene, Texas Pipe Club!

Yep yep the leaf, Midland is an interesting town, was there like two weeks ago for a holiday party. Getting pretty crowded. Cool about the pipe show deal! I am still waiting to hear back from the owner but I suppose that'd come in time ha.

Starting an Abilene, Texas Pipe Club!

Yeah makes sense. I think they'd be open to maybe having a second time or something. Best of luck!

Thanks for the info and the good vibes! You may considering joining up and giving em a web presence and such, not stepping on toes and that.

Starting an Abilene, Texas Pipe Club!

Hey all, not sure if there would be any interest in this from members of this board in particular, but I figured i'd share in the information! Abilene, Texas is a smallish city about 2.5-3 hours west of Dallas/Ft Worth. We have one traditional tobacconist and a fair bit of pipe smokers in the...

I just tried Solani 660 Silver Flake

Some good tobaccos in that list my friend! Enjoy!

I just tried Solani 660 Silver Flake

Silver flake is a lovely tobacco. I like mixing it with some varying amounts of Solani Burley Flake. Delicious combo. 60/40 in favor of Silver and 50/50. Just my 0.2

    You a 1-brander?

Multiple pipes from multiple makers, even customs. Have had many over the two or so years that i've been smoking pipes but I do find that there are certain brands that have smoked, near perfectly compared to the others. Other then that, no specific brand.
