Thanks. Problem is I'm running out of shops to find these forgotten gems. Gotta be 500+ smoke shops on Long Island and maybe a dozen of them have anything better that the generic Altadis bulk tobacco bags. Won't stop till my car is stuck in sand.
I've read and based some of my own purchase's on your praise of the McC Mature Virginia's. Are saying DF makes them second class citizens compared to it? I without a doubt smoke and cellar DF but to hear you call it the "BENCHMARK" makes me wonder what other VA's you would consider equal or...
I have a bunch of FVF in the cellar already. Seems I need to open a newer BBF to make sure I get the experience. And reading all the love for BBF means I've yet another weed to put away in bulk for the zombie apocalypse. :x
Thanks for everyone's opinion and input!
Better live to 135 to get...
I'm finally starting to get into loving VA on their own. My newbie love of ARO's progressed to a passion for all things LAT and Oriental. Can't get enough of both those style. Give me a Lat bomb and I'm in heaven. So naturally I decided to give all the VIRG's a chance now. Spending time with...
I found a stash of this marked at $8.99 a tin so i bought them all. They must have been on the shelf for years to begin with so I can't wait to see what they hold in store for me. Also had a few Butera Latakia #2's for $7.49 a pop.
Didn't bother picking up any Davidoff Mild Mixture, even at...
Stanwell Vanilla is another great one, IMHO. I'll also give a nod to McB Vanilla Cream Flake.
If you're looking for vanilla and latakia give SG's Perfection a try.
This seems to be the highest % of latakia advertised. Looking at all the different web-pages for all the companies that bother with them, I couldn't find a higher % advertised then C&D DaVinci. I've got a tin put away (and a tin of that supposedly god awful wino DaVinci from Dan Tobacco too)...
Does C&D still make their Bow Legged Bear? I have just one tin left and it has about 6-7 years on it now. Enjoyed it quite a bit, but now I can't ring myself to open my last one. Was this ever a favorite around here??
I have New York State to thank for quitting cigarettes. They taxed them so high I decided that a pack a day habit equaled a new car payment. So now I'm able to say that I'm an ex cig smoker, usally with a pipe or cigar in my mouth.
Is it wrong to admit I like the Nicotine??
Don't get me wrong. I'm all about the flavors I pull from my pipe's. I enjoy ARO's as much as I do Heavy Latakia blends. There are days I can't do anything but smoke sweet aged Virginians. I'm not even going to get into the cigar aspect of my tobacco love affair.
I'll be completely...
Funny how some people can be on the other end of that. I look forward to as much vitamin N as possible. Figure that's from being a cigarette smoker for 20+ years. I stopped smoking them over a year ago but still LOVE to get a fix with V-N heavy tabaccy. SG's ropes are great for that...
Dunhill NightCap for breakfast in one of my grandfathers pipes. Not sure of the make of it but its burned more Latakia heavy blends for me than any other pipe in my collection. I was lucky enough to get all my fathers and grandfathers pipes when I started this great adventure, about 20 of them.
I do the exact same thing. I put all my sealed tins in ziploc bags according to the types they are. Then I keep them all in a suitcase under my bed. Been doing that for several years now. Works great for me.
Keeping a tin of McC Blending Latakia on hand will make milder lat's Lat bombs. So you can always add more of what your looking for if the blend doesn't deliver. Besides the more well know lat blends, I pick up all those old tins sitting lonely and cheap at all the cigar shops I go to. If it...
