    Tobacconists in Paris, France?

I was in Paris a few months ago, and can vouch for A La Civette. They had a good, reasonably-priced selection of pipes. I snagged a natural finish Rattray author for around $100 US. Besides, it was just cool to be in a tobacconist that was around since 1753!

    Goodbye Edgar Froese

    Escrow accounts?

Hello everyone. I have been away from the board for a long time (long story), and it feels good to be back. I have a question about the pipe selling business, and this seems to be the place to ask it- does anyone use an escrow-like service when they buy or sell pipes? By escrow, I mean a third...

    Velani

I have an Aldo Velani canadian. It was the first pipe I ever owned. It always gives a good smoke. I would get another, but most of their shapes are too avant-garde for me.

Evining, all. Coniston Cut Plug in a L'Antra full bent apple here. Sneaking in a smoke between the rainstorms in San Freancisco.

    Anyone own a Jirsa pipe?

Another vote here for Jirsas. I own one- bought in Prague, in fact. It's a half-bent rustiicated apple, and it's always smoked great. Even though it is made for a 9mm filter, I smoke it without one, and it has never bothered me. I would recommend a Jirsa to anyone.

Ever Had A Pipe Change Smoking Characteristics On You?

I have a Rattray poker that was like that. I couldn't get a good smoke out of it for a year. It is finally beginning to behave. Then there is that Stanwell HCA that still hasn't broken in after over three years....

    Burly

If a very infrequent poster may offer a recommendation, McBaren London Burley Blend has become my go to tobacco. Yeah, I know McBaren bites some people like crazy (I can't smoke Va #1) but i love thisd blend.

    Marty Pulvers

I've had the pleasure of meeting Marty on several occasions, including at his store. Selling is hard enough to do, but to do it with warmth, humor and absolute integrity, well that takes a mensch. As an example, he saw a total newbie (me) come in the shop, could have sold me a 2x4 with a hole...
