Good morning all. McB Burley Flake in a Pete system B42, this one with a fishtail bit. Prefer it to the Plip. CR coffee goes good with burley. Swede, if you read Jim's latest post, I think he is on the seefood diet. If he sees it, he eats it, lol. If I ate like he does, I would be on diet maintenance for 6 months. LOL. Zippo, sorry you're out of FP man. I'll see what I have in the tobacco cupboard to send along with your next order of HW socks. Lol.

Good Afternoon everybody. Just finished plugging a Savinelli Long John with St. Bruno for my first smoke of the day. And a rather nasty and wet day it is too. A large cup of Jack daniels coffee on the side, listening to the Count of Monte Christo on audible
Zippo, that sounds like a good idea. It's cold, 34, windy, and snowing here. Think I'll have a double shot of honey bourbon in my next cup of Joe, lol.

Smoking a french Jeantet bent apple with Velvet and another mug of my mornings coffee, was able to get an appointment to see pain mgmt to see if they can help with my back issues.
EZ, sorry you're having back pain buddy. Hope the Docs can do something for you. I empathize with your situation.

When I came back out, the doves were waiting on the bridge for me to fill the feeders. Guess the gave up and decided to eat leftovers, lol.

Smoking a Custombilt Oom-paul with a Velvet/ creme brulee mix, I only did this because the CB was hard to keep lit and the Velvet fixed that problem, I wish I had some Carter hall, that wouldve worked even better.Speaking of which I stopped at a local smoke shop yesterday to grab some CH-The crook wanted 18.99+ tax for a pouch ! LOL!
Be thankfull you don't live in Britain EZ, $18.99 would be considered standard, or even well cheap compared to some bakkis

Jim, is there a name or description for the diet you follow, in case someone wanted to adopt it?
No. With the help of a couple of knowledgeable people, I invented it myself. I found a safe way to diet. I had a hip problem a few years back, and they put me on steroids for the inflammation, which caused me to gain fifty pounds in just over two weeks. The hip returned to normal, but I was stuck with the weight, so I went on a diet to lose it. Once I returned to my normal weight, I decided to lose the excess weight I had gained over the years sitting at the drawing board and the computer, so I kept it going. I lost 108 pounds in ten and a half months, and since then, I have been doing diet maintenance to stay around the mid-170s. That was what I weighed when I played semi-pro baseball in the 1990s. I'm 33 in the waist and wear a medium shirt with all that loss. Once I decided I didn't want to be fat, I had all the incentive I needed. The doctors said I added at least five years to my life span with a healthy diet. The main thing is you have do it for the rest of your life. People lose weight and stop dieting, and get fat again. I'm not letting that happen to me.

There's a ton of advice I can give, but it's way too much to type. If you're thinking about losing weight, and want advice, I'd be happy to chat with you on phone and detail what I did. Those diet programs on TV are worthless. Mine works.

For sanity's sake, you have to take a day when you are at your desired weight or under it, and indulge yourself. It does a lot of good for me.

Not far from finishing this bowl of Sutliff Eccentric (Signature Series) in a medium bend fumed tan crackled year 2020 Ahmet Govem reverse calabash meerschaum with a military mount silver band and black acrylic stem. Working on a review of this blend. I got seven estate pipes today, and will photograph and post them in my pipe thread later on. Lunch follows this smoke.

Jim
I salute you sir your post was awesomely inspiring
Thanks, man. It wasn't easy to do, but I was determined. And to be totally honest, it is harder to maintain my weight than it was to lose it. But, I will not fall into the trap of bouncing back and forth twenty, thirty pounds like some people I have known. I stay in the mid-170s, and do not go over 180. It takes a strong attitude to do it, but I'm not letting all that hard work go to, uhhh... waist. ;)
😇
