Tinsky #12 vs 2012 Christmas Pipe Comparison?

The #12 can be found here... http://ssl.cybersun.com/4Dscripts/webcatalog4disapi.dll/4dcgi/view?AMS-CAT012N~101661773~3 As you can see, it's a similar design (bent Rhodesian). But it's "less" bent (and possibly larger)? I have a Tinsky #12, which is a squat, Danish-looking 1/4 bent Bulldog...

Tinsky #12 vs 2012 Christmas Pipe Comparison?

Does anyone have any experience with the Tinsky #12 catalog shape and the 2012 Christmas pipe? Size comparison, photos, smoking experience would be gladly appreciated!

The New Tinsky Christmas Pipe Is Here...

That new Tinsky Christmas pipe is awesome. I like it alot better than the BoB pipe, no offense to anyone. I'm interested to see his new state-of-the-art double-extra-super-top-secret drilling method that he's using on these pipes. How long does he allow for orders of his Xmas pipes? Seems...

    The BoB 2012 POY

I'm right there with you. The coral is absolutely stunning. Bad luck that Mark couldn't find a source for the large diameter tortoise acrylic. I'm not a big fan of buffalo horn - experience from knife collecting. Horn isn't the most dimensionally stable material, and at least with knife...

Grrrr. Sorry for causing all this hassle. It's not really worth it. Like I said, it's NOT the BoB pipe shape, I was referring to him using lighter color acrylics for a military mount. Here's one way to access it...

Another Proto-BoB (at least with regards to the bit and mount)? Check out Unique Bent 735 on Mark's website - yellowish-orange acrylic military bit with orangish-yellow mount.

"...they have a soul and smoke impossibly well..."

Sure there is - in the chamber. Even if the chamber is perfectly smooth, it doesn't mean that there will be laminar flow - and you wouldn't want it. Turbulence allows the smoke and air to mix. The addition of tobacco adds all sorts of convoluted pathways, eddies, short-circuits. So the...

"...they have a soul and smoke impossibly well..."

Time to geek this up a notch. You can have head loss (think of it as loss of pressure - causing you to pull harder for an equivalent air flow) due to bends, kinks, rough surfaces in the air hole, diameter of air hole, the way the air hole opens up at the bit (fast or slow transition), etc...

Forget all disparaging remarks I made in this thread about military bits. SWMBO will not be happy one bit. AWESOME.

    Bermuda

I'm embarking on a Bermuda cruise this Saturday. My BiL is getting married in Jobson's Cove in Bermuda. I'm really looking forward to this since this is the first real vacation I've allowed myself to go on in over a decade. I know this is a bit out there, but does anyone know of any good...

Heheh, cat's out of the bag now, and to think I was always well behaved around Christmas and never snooped around for my presents. I'm sure that that is not what Mark has in store for the BoB pipe, most likely something based off his #12 design. I hope he offers us the coloring he used on CC...

I don't think it's against the rules to post a link, especially since he's the most likely supplier of the BoB pipe... http://www.amsmoke.com/

Just checked out Mark's website. Looks like he's fixing issues with his "Today's Work" page (gearing up for something big)? And check out Coral Carve 586 on that page. Possible practice run for the BoB pipe?

    Tesla's Birthday!

Preferably ones with permission to smack him upside the head when he was about to sign away his rights to something. Tesla: "No George, I don't want to take a controling interest in Westing..." Attorney: [WHACK] Tesla: "Give me the damn pen. Better yet, I'll sign that contract using this...

A summertime treat... if you like sweet coffee

Love the stuff. Made locally, no high fructose corn syrup, real coffee. Great stuff. Dave, the key is to add a decent amount of ice and let it melt for a bit to take the edge off. Hey Mater, I live right by you - I'm in Seaford.
