EJ- Are you familiar with Old Hat Records? They've transferred a lot of old time NC music from records to CDs. Old Hat Records

I went from classical before Christmas to pure rat pack, Dean, Frank, Tony and Sammy and space age lounge, Esqivel! and the rest of the Mondo Exotica set.

I'm a bit of a metalhead. So, I'm listening to the band Týr, from the Faroe Islands. They play a combo of heavy metal mixed with Scandinavian folk music. Current song ,"By the Light of the Northern Star"

That's cool, I'll have to look into it some more. Growing up my family had inherited an old Victrola with a variety of old 78's, my brothers & I used to wear them out on cold days like this, we finally broke the arm which supports the needle  a sad day. I think my parents still have it in their basement.

This morning the weather forcast said this 20 degree weather ain't going anywhere soon, so It put me in the mood for some classic 80's hair metal, put in Long Cold Winter by Cinderella.

This weekend & so far today Listening to Linkin Park's Minutes to Midnight album. Some good driving music.

Listening a lot lately to some old Allman Brothers stuff...and marvelling at the beauty of Dickie Betts' guitar picking.

Mike

Wife and I saw Eric Clapton with Roger Daltrey opening the other night. So, it has been classic British rock for the past couple of days.

Clapton was great, albeit his usual flawless, somewhat cookie-cutter self. Daltrey was an absolute gem of a show! Beat the crap out of their Superbowl show, was an hour of classic Who.

Its Friday nite and I'm in the mood for some West Coast Jump Blues, it gets no better than Kid Ramos.
