    Travel Case

Nice re-purposing job. Another great option for an inexpensive pipe bag is a shaving bag(spit kit for some of the veterans out there). I know quite a few guys who use them.

How to get an hour from 3g of tobacco?

The guy who won the Chicago contest this year and the past two years is in my pipe club. I've smoked with him in dozens of contests and, frankly, he is a machine. Some kind of pipe smoking Cyborg. Seriously though, he is utterly focused when he smokes and never gets distracted from the task at hand.

    Help from West Michigan people

http://www.buffalotobaccotraders.com/ Located right in Grand Rapids. Not a bad shop to visit. Maybe they could order it for you if they don't currently carry it.

Pipe smokers live longer, prove it

I don't think you'll ever find proof, but there is plenty of evidence. Exhibit A: http://www.mlive.com/entertainment/flint/index.ssf/2013/08/paul_spaniola_founder_and_owne.html Paul lived his life his way. His funeral was packed and when we all headed for the cemetery, the procession was a mile...

    What's up with SF?

Crazy situation to be in for them. I wonder if they will recover.

    What's up with SF?

The title says it all. Out of service the last couple days. Just wondering what was going on.

    Engraving

I just received this pipe back from a local artist whom I commissioned to decorate a pipe. It is done freehand with wood burning tools. Mine was more complex than others that I had seen her do. Her work generally has the look of fine scrimshaw and I've seen her do a range of designs. She has...

    Savinelli P-lip (dry system)

They are fantastic pipes. I enjoy the p lip and also the Savinelli version, but the pipes themselves are fine smokers. I have a matched set of 2604s, one in the basic Dry System and the other a Punto Oro with a cumberland stem. I don't know about current production, but they show up on ebay...

Can anyone name this famous pipe smoker?

    Kinda looks like Walter Cronkite.

whats with the exceeded log in thing?

Got it myself, earlier. No problem this time, though.

    How is composed your cellar?

"More of the same" is better than none at all, which is what alot of people fear will happen in the totalitarian future. That said, variety is good. You always need something new to crack open to change things up.

    Happy 100th, Paul Spaniola

You know, the Corona smoke shop in Jackson aint half bad. Typically mostly cigars, but they carry more than a little pipe tobacco.

    Happy 100th, Paul Spaniola

I was able to spend the afternoon at Paul's today. I first met Paul twenty years ago and the pipe he sold me then is still in heavy rotation. It is a world class place to go and I am lucky enough to only live twenty minutes away. I also took advantage of the birthday sale. Bought a new old stock...

    Baronet Bruyere and Savinelli?

Do you mean you were talking to pipe smokers hanging around or talking to the staff. What pipe shop did you go to?

    Cool Antique Store Find

I belong to the Arrowhead Pipe Club. The Arrowhead blend is still in production at Paul's Pipes in Flint, Mi and is their number one seller. That tin probably dates from as far back as the fifties, but if you contact the shop they may be able to narrow it down for you. It is an aromatic, as...

    vacuum sealing?

Put the tin in the bag and seal it like you want to. Nothing bad will come of it. You don't care for it, so one of two things will happen. You'll either give it another try and change your mind, or you'll find someone to trade it to. Either way, you're not talking about keeping it on hand for...

    Dating Mac Baren

I got my hands on some well aged London Blend some time back with the Fireside stickers on the bottom. After writing to Mac Baren inquiring about the possible age of the tins, they responded and told me that they stopped using Fireside as the importer in 1983. They also seemed shocked that I had...
