    RE: Cigar like pipe tobacco

Hello all, Anyone have a suggestion for a pipe tobacco that has a lot of cigar leaf or made entirely from cigar leaf? I've read the description regarding GLP's Robusto, has anyone smoked it? Thanks Ed

    First bowl of Navigator

So I tried my very first bowl of Navigator, which was good, but it certainly didn't knock my socks off. This might have been my first go 'round with a flake, I can't remember if I smoked any flake tobacco when I use to smoke a pipe 15 years ago. But anyway I did like how slow burning it was and...

    RE: Aged Tobacco

Since I really like Magnum Blend I want to buy a large quantity to age, but having never smoked an "aged" version of Magnum blend I'm wondering whether I'll even like an "aged" version. Has anyone ever allowed a favorite tobacco to age and then find they no longer like it? I want to buy one...

    RE: Pipes & Cigar smokers

Gentlemen: To any of you that smoke both cigars and pipes, do you have any problems/issues going back and forth. The last cigar I smoked (which was one I smoked often prior to returning to pipes) tasted horrible...think cigarette type taste horrible, and yes, it was purchased from the shop...

    RE: Tobacco Cellar

Gentlemen: With all things being equal (i.e. either a sealed tin or placed in a mason jar, out of direct sunlight, etc.) how long will stored tobacco be smoke-able (i.e flavorful, not dried out)? I'm concerned about the FDA and rising prices and diminished availability so I want to start a...

    Volume of smoke question

Being a long time (over 20 years) cigar smoker, I've noticed over the years that some cigars produce a larger volume of smoke than others (not counting the occasional stick that has a plug or other abnormality which effects the draw). Is there a particular pipe blend that is especially known for...

    RE: building my first pipe

I have been bitten by the pipe building bug and have a couple of questions before I begin. I know from owning pipes and smoking them that the interior shape of the bowl is an inverted cone, is there a problem making width of the tobacco chamber equal from top to bottom, i.e not conical? Also is...

    Advice RE repair

Let me start by saying I completely understand this is a personal decision, but I'm asking anyway because I'm really torn. I have an estate Parker that I paid $85.00 dollars for, my dog chew the stem before I even had a chance to smoke it. Doing a bit of investigating on the web it looks like...

    RE: Possible tax pipe tobacco

I'm just wondering if you are taking the threat of the new tobacco tax seriously, are are currently buying extra tobacco just in case? The bill doesn't seem like it should even get out of committee but since it potentially would raise tax revenue you can never tell. Ed

    RE:Orientals v. English

I have looked through the sticky RE blends for new smokers and have then looked at descriptions of different tobaccos on sites such as Smoking Pipes and perhaps I'm missing something. It seems to me that English blends and "Orientals" are very similar. Is this true? Or am I missing something? It...

    Blockade Runner

I really wanted to like this blend...BUT...I just don't like it at all. I kept smoking it thinking if I changed pipes, changed how I pack it, even what time of day I smoked it. But nothing...Anyone else had this experience with Blockade Runner? Thanks, Ed

    RE: Celtic Tailsman

Has anyone smoked this particular tobacco before? If so did you find it particularly aromatic? I bought a tin and every time I smoke it around anyone they say don't get much smell at all. Just wondering what someone else's experience is. Thanks, Ed

Can a pipe made to hold a 9mm filter be smoked without the filter? Are there any problems associated with not using a filter in a pipe designed for one? Thanks Ed
